The traditional and family-run Pension Gerstenbrand is located in Fischbachau in Upper Bavaria. Surrounded by beautiful nature, you can enjoy a wonderfully relaxing holiday here at any time of year. The proximity to Lake Tegernsee, Lake Schliersee and Lake Chiemsee and the picturesque Alps as well as the most beautiful Destinations in the region makes this idyllic place the perfect holiday destination for the whole family.
Our History
The Gerstenbrand guesthouse first welcomed guests back in the 1960s. The guest rooms were kept simple and everyone had a shower or bathtub for shared use, which was heated once a week for everyone. Guests were well catered for at breakfast, lunch and dinner. Even back then, people appreciated the quiet location in the midst of the marvellous nature of Upper Bavaria. The associated farm was run until the 1970s and fields were once cultivated and cows were kept where the beautiful garden now shines.
The mother of today's host Peter Hagnberger ran the business in the 1980s together with her mother-in-law and catered for guests with a passion for detail and great hospitality with breakfast, lunch and dinner. This was followed in the 1990s by a switch to breakfast catering.
Many friendships have been made. Numerous regular guests have been spending their holidays with the Hagnbergers for decades.
Constant modernisation ensures cosy comfort and the finest holiday enjoyment for the whole family.
The Hagnberger family today
Anna and her husband Peter took over her mother-in-law's business in 2014. She lovingly looks after her guests, the house and the beautiful gardens.
In recent years, modern play areas for children in the fresh air and a special fire and barbecue area for summer evenings together have been created in addition to new features in the rooms.
